With the filing season quickly approaching, Doeren Mayhew would like to remind you of key tax deadlines in 2017, some of which have changed from previous years. Prior to the passing of the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act, the short-term highway funding extension passed by Congress in July 2015 set new tax deadlines for partnership and C corporation returns, as well as FinCEN Form 114, Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR), and several other Internal Revenue Service information returns. Below is a list of key federal due dates generally applicable for 2016 tax returns (2017 filing season):
