On August 2, 2019, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) extended the comment period for the proposed amendments to Regulation F implementing the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).  The FDCPA proposal, which we blogged about on June 25, 2019, provides consumers with several protections against debt collectors. Give the interest from the industry about the proposal, the CFPB has extended the comment period to September 18, 2019.  The original 90-day comment deadline was August 19, 2019.
