Doeren Mayhew Announces the Election of Three New Shareholders

TROY, MICH. – Jan. 3, 2018 – Doeren Mayhew, a top 100 CPA and business advisory firm with domestic locations in Florida, Michigan, North Carolina and Texas, has announced the election of three new shareholders effective Jan. 1, 2018.

Brad Atkin, CPA, MBA, CISA joined the firm’s Troy, Mich. headquarters in 2005. During his tenure at the firm, he has focused his efforts on providing audit and assurance services for clients in the financial institutions, service organization, technology, construction, manufacturing,  leasing and retail industries. Today, Atkin helps lead the firm’s Information Technology Assurance and Security Group, where he assists clients in evaluating and designing internal control and system management processes. He received a bachelor’s in accounting and a master’s degree in business administration from Central Michigan University.



Stephen Skok, CPA, MST has more than 10 years of experience working with the firm. Located in the firm’s Michigan-based headquarters, Skok is a leader within the Health Care Group and Dental Division, where he works alongside general practitioners and dentists providing strategical and operational advice for their practices. Leveraging many years worked in the firm’s Tax Group, he also focuses on proactively evaluating clients’ current tax situations to minimize liabilities, and discovering incentives for clients’ corporate, partnership, individual, and state and local tax reporting. Skok holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in taxation from Walsh College.



Jeremy Smith

Jeremy Smith, CPA, MSA joined the firm’s Houston office in 2007. Over his career, Smith has specialized in providing audit and assurance services to businesses operating in the financial institutions, industrial services, wholesale, construction, health care and chemical blending industries. In 2017, he relocated to the Dallas office to help lead the firm’s Financial Institutions Group, where he focuses his efforts on providing risk management services to credit unions, community banks and credit union service organizations. Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in accounting from Texas A&M University.
