TROY, MICH. – March 28, 2012 – Doeren Mayhew, a Troy-based certified public accounting and consulting firm, was recently ranked among the nation’s largest accounting, tax, and business consulting firms by Accounting Today.
Based on roughly 200 responses nationwide, Doeren Mayhew ranked in the leading 75 firms in terms of its annual revenue size in the publication’s 2012 “Top 100 Firms” report.
Celebrating its 25th year, the Accounting Today survey revealed growth of nearly 8 percent among the leaders, up from a two-year decline. Attributing to this increase is the recent boom of merger activity within the industry, the reported noted. More than half of the Top 100 firms engaged in mergers in the past year, with 55 firms officially reporting at least one merger, and many reporting more than one, according to the report.
“This trend reflects Doeren Mayhew’s own strategy, with the firm recently expanding into the Texas market through a 2010 merger with Houston-based TR Moore & Company,” says Mark Crawford, managing director.
“We are honored to be named a Top 100 firm,” Crawford says. “Our merger and the recognition it helped us achieve represents Doeren Mayhew’s commitment to staying on the forefront of the industry for our clients.”
TR Moore & Company expects to transition to the unified brand name Doeren Mayhew in mid-2012, increasing the firm’s national client service reach with experienced professionals.
