HOUSTON – October 21, 2019 – Doeren Mayhew, a Houston CPA and advisory firm, competed in the Houston Food Bank’s Hunger Games competition, where the firm came in 2nd place overall.
The Hunger Games is an annual competition organized by the Houston Food Bank every September as part of Hunger Action Month, where local businesses and organizations compete to raise the most meals by donating time, food and funds. Doeren Mayhew’s contributions alone helped provide nearly 12,000 meals to families, children and seniors throughout the southeast Texas region.
“It’s amazing to see so many Houston businesses, including Doeren Mayhew, come together to support this initiative, by not only contributing their time as volunteers, but also through food and financial donations,” says Chris Masters, Houston Managing Shareholder. “Tropical Storm Imelda brought devastation to so many families in our community this year, and we hope that our contributions can help as they continue to rebuild.”
This is the second year the firm has participated in this event as part of its community outreach program, Difference. Doeren Mayhew came in third place in the 2018 competition.
