Professional Experience

Justin Hawkes is a Principal at Doeren Mayhew. He works with a variety of industries including non-profit, real estate, low-income housing and wholesale distribution.

A seasoned audit professional, Justin specializes in performing audits, reviews and compilations to help provide clients with a clear vision of their financial health. He also reviews client internal controls and policies to provide recommendations for improvement.

With a special focus on non-profit entity reporting, he is often relied on for his expertise in performing in-depth Federal Award (Single) audits under Uniform Guidance. In addition, he has extensive knowledge in preparing audited financial statements according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development regulations and governmental auditing standards.

Justin recently joined Doeren Mayhew as part of a merger announced in January 2022.
