Doeren Mayhew Promotes Eleven to Shareholder

Doeren Mayhew, a nationally recognized CPA and advisory firm, recently promoted eleven to the firm’s shareholder ranks effective Jan. 1, 2023. The newly elected group of shareholders is comprised of professionals from the firm’s audit, tax, business advisory, litigation and accounting outsourcing groups. “Each of these individuals have proven their dedication to their clients, as well as the growth of the firm – earning them the distinguished title of shareholder,” said Chad Anschuetz, Doeren Mayhew’s managing shareholder and chairman. “As our firm continues to grow, having this talent within our leadership team only positions us for future success.”This year’s advancing class includes the following individuals:Vince Bechard, CPA, MST is a leader within the firm’s Troy Tax group, where he leverages over a decade of experience, including private industry. Since beginning his career with the firm, he has focused on providing proactivefederal, state and local tax planning and compliance strategies to the firm’s real estate, construction, manufacturing and auto dealer clients.Matt Bigelow, CPA, MST leverages over eleven years of experience working alongside small- to mid-size businesses to deliver a wide-range of tax services in the Troy office. Specializing in pass-through entity taxation of S corporations and partnerships, Matt works with clients in various industries, including real estate, property management, manufacturing, automotive, construction, financial institutions and investment holding.Alissa Crawford, CPA is an audit shareholder in firm’s Troy office, where she began her career in public accounting over ten years ago. She leads and supervises accounting, audit and assurance services for a variety of industries, including private equity, manufacturing, non-profits, dealerships and aerospace/defense contractors. In addition, she is regularly involved in consulting engagements and M&A transactions.Melissa DeRoche, CPA is a member of the firm’s Business Advisory Group. Operating out of the Troy office, she focuses her time providing controllers and small business owners of professional service, real estate and manufacturing companies with all facets of accounting, ranging from account reconciliation and compiling financial statements, to tax return preparation.Theresa Cameron, CVA, CFE is in the Valuation and Litigation Support Group located within the Troy office. Theresa focuses her time assisting clients and attorneys in successfully resolving litigation and non-litigation matters. She regularly provides clients across all industries with a better understanding of their business value for purposes of family law, mergers and acquisitions, estate and gift tax and shareholder disputes.Megan McCandlish, CPA, MAcc is a 12-year member of the firm’s Troy Audit Group, specializing in performing audits, reviews and compilations to help provide clients with a clear vision of their financial health. Megan focuses on non-profit entity reporting, often being relied on for her extensive expertise in performing in-depth single audits.Ugo Onwudiegwu, CPA, JD has over ten years of experience in public accounting. Located in the Houston office, he specializes in tax advisory and compliance services for clients primarily in the real estate and homebuilding industries. His unique expertise in real estate accounting enables him to advise in industry-specific areas such as tax incentives and planning strategies, federal and state tax compliance, complex transactions and reporting requirements.Mitchell Pepper, CPA, MBA resides in our Grand Rapids office where he brings over nine years of experience. He specializes in providing tax planning including tax depreciation compliance, accounting method changes and R&D tax credits. He works with small businesses in various sectors, including manufacturing, construction, real estate and professional service firms.Danielle Pennings, CPA has over 12 years of experience in public accounting. As a shareholder in the firm’s Grand Rapids office, she provides audits, reviews and compilations to a diverse client base, including those in the construction and non-profit industries.         Chris Setili, CPA, MST brings more than eleven years of experience providing tax advisory and compliance services to closely held, multi-state, and multi-national clients. Chris specializes in partnership taxation issues, in addition to a focus on private equity services, assisting with tax due diligence and advising clients on both buy- and sell-side M&A transactions. Chris assists clients in a variety of sectors, including manufacturers, auto suppliers, distributors and professional service providers.Lisa Sherman, CPA is a shareholder in the Accounting Outsourcing Services Group located within the Grand Rapids office. She brings over 28 years of experience in accounting operations and ERP software implementations to her clients. Leveraging her wealth of knowledge, she ensures solutions are provided to drive businesses’ accounting performance.       The firm also welcomed new Audit Shareholder Frank Sharp, CPA in October 2022 to its Houston office, where he brings more than 15 years’ experience providing assurance services to publicly traded, private-equity owned and privately held businesses.
